#1: Affordable

Liberty's tuition is in the bottom 10% of all private colleges and universities in America.

Not only is our tuition low, but all incoming students receive a number of scholarships at varying amounts. In addition to university scholarships and federal grants, our Student Advocate Office provides Outside Scholarship Workshops to teach you how to be successful in searching for and receiving outside scholarships.

#2: Atmosphere

Life at Liberty is full of excitement and opportunity.

The environment outside the classroom is a vital part of every university experience, and here at Liberty University we encourage students to work hard AND play hard. We have a wide variety of activities for students to be involved in from clubs, to sports teams and residence hall activities.

#3: Academics

We offer over 60 programs of study to choose from.

Liberty provides class times from early in the morning into the evening hours to best fit your schedule. The student-professor ratio is 25:1, providing opportunity for one-on-one interaction and personal attention from professors both in and out of the classroom.

#4: Athletics

We have 18 intercollegiate athletic teams that compete at an NCAA Division I level.

Liberty University offers 18 NCAA Division I programs which continually raise the bar of success each year, including the 2005 season when the Lady Flames women's basketball team gained national attention by making NCAA history in advancing to the Sweet 16 round of the 2005 Women's Basketball NCAA Tournament.

#5: Amenities

Liberty offers students many amenities to provide a comfortable, personal atmosphere for their
home-away-from-home.

Our residence halls provide a variety of options including
apartment-style housing, quads and hallway residences. Whatever your living preference, we have a spot for you!

#6: Student Population

Liberty has a student body which represents all 50 states and over 80 countries.

Although our residential student body has reached over 10,000 students, we continue to provide a close-knit family atmosphere in which students feel cared for and accepted.

#7: Speakers

Speakers like Rick Warren, Sean Hannity, Senator Zell Miller and U.S. Senator John McCain have all delivered speeches at Liberty University.

Liberty University brings in hundreds of speakers each year for its Convocation services held each week in the Vines Center and other events. Liberty University students have the opportunity to hear addresses by pastors, political leaders, authors, radio talk show hosts and many more.

#8: Ministry

Because Liberty's number one focus is God, we provide students with a variety of worship opportunities to facilitate spiritual growth.

Many of the opportunities for growth are incorporated into the weekly schedule. For example, Convocation, our chapel service, meets three times a week. And each Tuesday night, students meet in their individual residence halls to pray and share life through prayer.

#9: Missions

Light Ministries offers resources and contacts with missions organizations throughout the globe.

The Center for Global Ministry exists to challenge, train and mentor Liberty students for world evangelism, church planting and church growth in all areas of the world, providing the knowledge, tools and experience to become Champions for Christ in a global strategy for building His church. Light Ministries exists for the purpose of enabling Christians to participate in the fulfillment of the Great Commission through short-term, cross-cultural ministry.

#10: Location

Lynchburg was ranked "2nd Best Small City" by Money magazine and was included in the top 50 "Best Places to Raise a Family" by Reader's Digest.

Liberty University is nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and located on the south bank of the historic James River, in a region rich in history, culture and outdoor recreational opportunities.
